Feeder Cattle Higher

SAN ANGELO — Feeder lambs sold firm this week, slaughter lambs were firm and slaughter ewes $2-3 higher. Trading was fairly active and demand good. Receipts totaled 10,296 head.

Feeder steers and heifers weighing less than 500 pounds sold $1-3 higher last week, instances $5 higher, heavier weights firm to $2 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls were firm, stock cows and pairs slightly higher. Receipts totaled 3877 head.

Feeder lambs: medium and large 1-2 40-60 lbs. $81-87, 60-80 lbs. $77-82.50, set $85, 80-90 lbs. $73-77, 90-100 lbs. $69-74.50; medium and large No. 2 40-60 lbs. $71-81, 60-80 lbs. $66-77, 80-90 lbs. $65-73.

Slaughter lambs: choice 2-3 shorn and wooled 90-125 lbs. $70-77, 125-140 lbs. $65-70.50; good and choice 2-4 slaughter ewes $40-47, utility and good 1-3 $41-50.50, cull and utility 1-2 $35-41.50; bucks $37-47.

Stock ewes: medium and large 1-2 yearlings $80 per head.

Meat goats: slaughter billies and wethers 100-150 lbs. $65-110 per head, 150-225 lbs. $105-190, nannies 70-110 lbs. $45-57 cwt., thin 60-90 lbs. $35-45, choice and prime kids and yearlings 35-40 lbs. $80-85, 40-60 lbs. $70-78, 60-100 lbs. $71-74, choice 40-90 lbs. $62-72, good 40-80 lbs. $55-62; stock nannies 45-50 lbs. $107.50-170 cwt., 60-95 lbs. $40-65 per head.
