Camp Cooley Bull Sale
Avg $2034 On 381 Head

FRANKLIN, Texas —(Nov. 20-21)— The Camp Cooley Ranch sale here averaged $2034 on 381 bulls. The 245 Brangus bulls averaged $2239, 58 Charolais bulls averaged $2013, 20 commercial Brangus bulls $1503, and 48 Angus averaged $1277.

The 69 registered Brangus yearling open heifers averaged $1793, and 182 commercial open heifers, bred heifers and cows averaged $512.

Topping the sale was a yearling Brangus bull at $35,000, bought by Dick Fackler, Neosho, Mo. A spring bull went to Shell Creek Cattle Co., Arcadia, Fla., for $20,000 for half interest and possession. Another yearling went to John Stites of Rocky Ridge Ranch, Cookesville, Tenn., for $17,000 for half interest and possession.

High-selling Charolais bull was a yearling at $7000 going to Robert Summerfield, Falkville, Ala. The top Angus bull was a yearling at $2700 going to Jim McCord, Hearne, Texas. A yearling commercial Brangus bull brought $3500 from Charles Hein, Brookshire, Texas.

A pick of any female from the Camp Cooley Ranch herd went to Charles Crochet, Lafayette, La.; Zeb Morris, Charlotte, N.C.; and Chip Durand, St. Martinville, La., for $28,000. The high-selling open heifer went to Zeb Morris for $4750.
