Roy Harkey of San Angelo sold, for a Maryneal stockman, 2300 mixed lambs for delivery off small grain fields January 15 at 18 cents a pound.

Johnny Dunn of Arnett, Oklahoma, this week sold 250 mixed calves for delivery off wheatfields in March to Sol Bouziden of Alva, Oklahoma, at 17 and 19 cents on heifers and steers, respectively.

Bill Davis bought 85 steer yearlings weighing 828 pounds from Wesley Lewis of Sudan, Texas, at 17 cents per pound, December 11 delivery.

Togo Tomerlin of San Angelo this week sold two loads of feeder lambs weighing around 80 pounds at $17 cwt.

McNary Land Company of McNary, Texas, near El Paso, this week sold two doubles of clipped fed lambs on the Fort Worth market at $17 through Texas Livestock Marketing Association.

Fred Darden of Visalia, Calif., bought 300 mixed breed heifer and steer yearlings expected to weigh around 650 pounds for March delivery at $23.50 and $24.

Walter Smith of Wyoming, Ill., bought 100 steer yearlings expected to weigh around 750 pounds for early January delivery at $25.50 from Neal Freeman of Dalhart, Texas.

W.U. Barnes of Camargo, Okla., is reported to have sold 325 fed heifers out of feedlots at Dalhart at $26 for delivery this month to Swift & Co., Fort Worth; these heifers have been on feed about 130 days and are estimated to average about 950 pounds.

Elmer Melton of Pampa, Texas, recently sold and delivered 159 heifer and steer calves weighing 435 and 450, respectively, at $31 and $33 to Walberg & Son, also of Pampa.

San Angelo traders say hardly any sheep are moving; some fats and feeders were looked at in the Eden area at $17 and $18, respectively, but no trade was confirmed.

Ike Wiggins of Wagon Mound, N.M., sold 100 heifer calves weighing 409 pounds at $27.50 and delivered them to a neighboring rancher.

Bridwell Ranch's annual production sale was another record breaker at Windthorst, Texas, as 246 head of Herefords grossed $515,860. The total sale's average was $2097 and 95 bulls averaged $3575. Thirty-one bred heifers averaged $1876.

Vestel Askew of Sonora was elevated to the presidency of the Texas Sheep & Goat Raisers Assn., which he once served as secretary, in the annual meeting in Houston.

Cecil Dellinger, Clayton, N.M., bought from Troy Chisum of Dalhart 84 steer yearlings described as good quality Herefords weighing 675 pounds at $22; also 40 steer yearlings weighing 500 at $25 from M.L. Chisum, Dalhart.

Government payments to Texas farmers and ranchers amounted to $148,461,000 in 1962. This was $15,591,000 more government paid income than the 1961 total of $133,870,000, according to the Texas Crop and Reporting Service in Austin.

Cattle on feed in the seven leading feeding states Dec. 1 totaled 7,814,000 head, down six percent from a year earlier but up seven percent from two years ago.
