for March delivery 210 No. 1 Okie and exotic cross
heifers to weigh 725 pounds at $63; in the Texas
Panhandle for current delivery 160 No. 1 Okie steers
weighing 600 at $73, also 350 No. 1 Okie and exotic
steers weighing 750 at $68.50, and 140 No. 1½ crossbred
steers weighing 700 at $65.
Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in the Texas
Panhandle for current delivery two loads of No. 1 Okie
steers weighing 725 pounds at $71, also four loads of
similar steers weighing 750 at $70.50, and two loads of
the same kind of heifers weighing 750 at $64.50.
USDA reports 660 head of feeder cattle selling direct
off Oklahoma range, including: for current delivery
medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 775 pounds at $68,
also 825 pounds at $65 and 970 pounds at $61; similar
heifers weighing 665-675 pounds at $65.50-66.
Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as
confirmed by USDA totaled 1400 head, all selling f.o.b.
Idaho. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 550-575
pounds brought $74, 650 pounds $71-73, and 800 pounds
$66; similar heifers weighing 500 pounds were $69, and
950-1100 pound bred heifers, mostly blacks to calve in
February, made $625-675 per head.
Montana direct feeder trade by USDA count came to 360
head, edium and large No. 1 steers weighing 750-775 at
$67-69 f.o.b. for current delivery, and similar heifers
weighing 675 at $66 f.o.b. for current delivery.
