Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought in New Mexico for March delivery 1000 No. 1 Okie and crossbred steers to weigh 700 pounds at $72, also 450 similar heifers to weigh 625 at $69, and 480 No. 1 exotic and native cross heifers to weigh 700 at $68; in Central Texas for February delivery 800 No. 1 exotic cross steers to weigh 750 at $71.

Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in West Texas for March delivery 1025 No. 1 crossbred steers to weigh 750 pounds at $70.50, and for current delivery one load of No. 1 English-exotic cross steers weighing 650 at $74.

Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold on a delivered basis to New Mexico buyers one load of No. 1½ English and Brahman cross steers and bulls to weigh 378 pounds at $74.97, also one load of No. 1½ to toppy No. 2 English and Brahman cross heifers weighing 448 at $64.15; to Texas Panhandle buyers a load of No. 1 English steers weighing 828 at $65.80 f.o.b. and a short load of fleshy No. 2 English and English cross cutting bulls weighing 600 at $60 delivered.

USDA reports 6500 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Oklahoma range, including: for May delivery medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 800 pounds at $69; for April similar steers to weigh 775-800 at $70; for March similar steers to weigh 750-800 at $69.25-70 and similar heifers to weigh 725 at $64.50; for February steers to weigh 775 at $70; for current delivery steers weighing 725-750 at $69-72 and 800-885 pounds at $67-70, also similar heifers weighing 625-660 at $66-68 and 700-775 at $63-66. Medium and large 1-2 heifers to weigh 675 pounds were $66 for June 1-15 delivery.

Direct feeder cattle trade in Montana as confirmed by USDA totaled 3150 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 700-725 pounds brought $70-71.50 f.o.b. Idaho, 800-850 pounds $66-67.50 f.o.b. Oregon and Washington, and 850 pounds $66-67 delivered in Washington; similar heifers weighing 600-625 were $67 f.o.b. Idaho, 800-825 pounds $63-65 f.o.b. Oregon and Washington, and 800 pounds $63-64 delivered in Washington.

Direct feeder cattle trade in Montana by USDA count came to 2660 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 550 pounds made $75, 600-625 pounds $72-73, 650-675 pounds $73-74, 700-750 pounds $68-70, and 850-875 pounds $67-69; similar heifers weighing 520 pounds were $72, a string of five-weight replacements $75, 575-600 pounds $68.50-70, and 700-775 pounds $66.
