Steady, Cattle Higher

SAN ANGELO — Feeder lambs were about steady in a light test this week, slaughter lambs steady to firm, good and choice slaughter ewes $1-3 higher, other grades steady. Receipts toted 9400 head.

Feeder steers and heifers sold firm to $2 higher last week, slaughter cows $2-4 higher, bulls $4-5 higher, stock cows and pairs firm. Receipts totaled 2800 head.

Feeder lambs: medium and large 1-2 few 60-80 lbs. $76-87.

Slaughter lambs: choice 2-3 shorn and wooled 100-130 lbs. $65-72; good and choice 2-4 slaughter ewes $30-37, utility and good 1-3 $34-44, utility 1-2 $28-34, cull and utility 1-2 $20-27, bucks $32-44.

Goats: slaughter meat type billies 100-150 lbs. $67.50-100 per head, 150-200 lbs. $100-150; nannies 70-110 lbs. $45-55 cwt., thin nannies 60-90 lbs. $35-45, choice and prime kids and yearlings 30-50 lbs. $75-80, 75-120 lbs. $63-72, choice 40-80 lbs. $65-75, good 40-90 lbs. $60-65.

Stock cows: medium and large 1-2 young 800-1200 lbs. $39-45, middleaged 800-1100 lbs. $38-44; medium and large 1-2 bred young cows and heifers $530-570, medium 1-2 $400-500; medium and large 1-2 cows with 100-350 lb. calves $600-680 per pair, medium 1-2 cows with 100-300 lb. calves $450-580.
