Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought in North Texas for April delivery 850 No. 1-1½ Okie and crossbred steers to weigh 720 pounds at $70, and for March delivery 280 similar steers to weigh 775 at $73 as well as 190 such heifers to weigh 700 at $70; in the Texas Panhandle for March 350 No. 1-1½ Okie steers to weigh 750 at $73.50 and for current delivery 120 No. 1 and better steers weighing 700-725 at $75, as well as 80 heifer mates weighing 600-625 at $72.

Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in West Texas for April delivery eight loads of No. 1 English-exotic cross steers to weigh 750 pounds at $74 and for current delivery three loads of similar heifers weighing 700 at $69; in Oklahoma for March four loads of the same type steers to weigh 750 at $74; in the Texas Panhandle for August delivery three loads of similar steers to weigh 750 at $1.50 back of the futures board, and for April delivery 750 such steers to weigh 750 at 50 cents back of the board.

Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold on a delivered basis to a Kansas buyer one load of No. 1 English and Brahman cross steers and bulls weighing 488 pounds at $86.90; to a local buyer a short load of fancy Brangus replacement heifers weighing 533 at $86.68, also a short load of fancy black whiteface and Angus replacement heifers weighing 503 at $84.30, both f.o.b. prices; to a Colorado buyer two loads of No. 1 fancy English heifers weighing 469 at $83.90; to an Oklahoma buyer one load of mixed color English and Brahman cross heifers weighing 478 at $78.42; to Texas Panhandle buyers one short load of heavy, fleshy cutting bulls weighing 576 at $69.75 and a short load of similar cutting bulls weighing 683 at $67.47.

USDA reports 8750 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Oklahoma range, including: for May delivery medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 800 pounds at $71 and similar heifers to weigh 650 at $70.50; for April similar steers to weigh 750-800 at $71.50-74; for March steers to weigh 750-825 pounds at $71-73 and heifers to weigh 700-725 at $69.50-70; for current delivery steers weighing 725-785 at $72-75 and 800-850 pounds at $70-72, plus heifers weighing 700-740 at $68.50-71.

Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as confirmed by USDA totaled 6250 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 575 pounds brought $86 f.o.b. Idaho, 750-800 pounds $72-72.50 f.o.b. Idaho, 850 pounds $71 delivered in Washington and Idaho, and 875 pounds $71-71.50 f.o.b. Washington and Oregon; similar heifers weighing 800-825 pounds were $67-69 f.o.b. Washington and Oregon, 800 pounds $69 delivered in Washington and Idaho.

Montana direct feeder cattle trade by USDA count came to 2075 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 600 pounds made $78, 700-725 pounds $72-74, 750-800 pounds $71-73, and 800-825 pounds $70-72; similar heifers weighing 700 were $69, and 775-800 pounds $67-68, all f.o.b. for current delivery.
