Feeder Lamb Price Trends Mixed
Price trends on fat and feeder lambs were a little
iffy this week. Feeder lambs found fairly good demand and
stronger prices at Texas markets, where the volume picked
up a bit from recent short supplies.

Trade Wipes Out Big List Of Plains Fed Cattle
Plains feedlots traded cattle before midweek for
the first time in a while, but they gave up a little
recent ground in the doing.

health companies, today expressed disappointment with

Feeder steers and heifers sold $2-6 higher in
Mason, Brownwood and San Saba last week, the greatest
advance on 400-500 pounds, slaughter cows and bulls
steady to $2 lower, pairs and breed stock cows steady.
Receipts totaled 2554 head at the three sales.

Feeder steers sold steady to $2 higher, heifers
$2-3 higher, slaughter cows steady to $2 lower bulls $2
lower, stock cows steady. Receipts totaled 1237 head.

A few slaughter lambs sold steady, slaughter ewes
and bucks steady; stock Angora kids $5-10 higher, nannies
steady, slaughter kids $2-5 higher, other slaughter
Angoras steady; slaughter Spanish kids $10-20 higher, fat
nannies $5-7 higher, muttons $10-15 higher, billies
steady, stock nannies steady.

Nearly all weights and classes of feeder steers
and heifers sold $3-5 higher, slaughter cows and bulls
steady. Receipts totaled 1175 head.

Feeder lambs sold $3-6 higher, slaughter lambs
steady, slaughter ewes and bucks steady; slaughter
Spanish kids $2-6 higher, nannies $5 higher, billies and
muttons steady, stock nannies mostly $3-5 higher.
Receipts totaled 2300 head.

Feeder Steer, Heifer Prices Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold $2-3 higher,
slaughter cows and bulls steady. Receipts totaled 789
head.

Feeder Steers, Heifers Move Higher
Feeder steers sold $1-3 higher, some 500-600
pounds $4 higher, heifers $1-2 higher, slaughter cows and
bulls $1-2 lower. Receipts totaled 1155 head.

Meat Production 2% Above A Year Ago
Total red meat production under federal inspection
for last week was estimated at 870.3 million pounds, .5
percent more than a week earlier and two percent above a
year ago. Cumulative meat production for the year to date
was up .7 percent at 5.52 billion pounds.

City Feeder Cattle Prices Higher
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $3
higher, slaughter cows and bulls steady, bred stock cows
and pairs steady. Receipts totaled 727 head.
Kansas
Direct Feeder Cattle Trend Higher
Feeder steers sold firm to $2 higher last week,
heifers firm to $1 higher. Receipts totaled 15,389 head.
Weather was mild with light rain and snow.

Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $2
higher, some lightweight heifers $3 up, slaughter cows
$1-1.50 lower, bulls $1 lower, bred stock cows fully
