Lamb Prices Higher

GOLDTHWAITE —(Feb. 12)— Feeder lambs sold $3-6 higher, slaughter lambs steady, slaughter ewes and bucks steady; slaughter Spanish kids $2-6 higher, nannies $5 higher, billies and muttons steady, stock nannies mostly $3-5 higher. Receipts totaled 2300 head.

Sheep: medium and large No. 1 feeder lambs 65-85 lbs. $67-79, new crop 60-80 lbs. $87-93; choice and prime 2-3 slaughter lambs 100-130 lbs. $64-68, utility slaughter ewes $28-34, good $35-45, bucks $33-45; medium and large 1-2 solidmouth ewes with baby to 40 lb. lambs $42-48 each; Barbado ewes $39-48, lambs 35-60 lbs. $62-81, bucks 70-120 lbs. $46-60.

Angora goats: choice and prime slaughter kids 40-65 lbs. $71-81 cwt.

Spanish goats: choice and prime slaughter kids 15-35 lbs. $78-85 cwt., 35-65 lbs. $76-88.50, few to $92.50, good 15-35 lbs. $67-72, 35-65 lbs. $66-76, fat nannies 90-130 lbs. $49-57, thin nannies $35-49, muttons 85-125 lbs. $58-65, billies 80-165 lbs. $64-75; young stock nannies 50-85 lbs. $54-77 cwt., some with kids $23-30 each.
