ABILENE —(Feb. 23)— Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $2 lower, the decline on weights under 600 pounds, slaughter cows $1-3 higher, bulls steady, stock cows and pairs steady. Receipts totaled 1550 head.

Feeder steers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $100-110, 300-400 lbs. $98-109, 400-500 lbs. $94-104, 500-600 lbs. $81-89, 600-700 lbs. $75-82.

Feeder heifers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $83-90, 300-400 lbs. $85-96, 400-500 lbs. $76-81, 500-600 lbs. $72-78, 600-700 lbs. $67.50-70.50.

Slaughter cows: breakers $34.50-36, boners $35-39, high dressing $38-40.50, lean 900-1200 lbs. $32-35, 750-900 lbs. $38-32, under 750 lbs. $25-27.50; yield grade 1-2 bulls 1300-2100 lbs. $43.50-47, 1000-1300 lbs. $36.

Stock cows: medium and large 1-2 young 900-1200 lbs. 4-8 months bred $500-530 per head, aged 800-1200 lbs. 4-8 months bred $390-490; medium and large 1-2 young 950-1200 lb. cows with 100-200 lb. calves $590-670 per pair, aged 800-1200 lb. cows with 100-200 lb. calves $525-570.
