Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought for May delivery in Central Texas 350 No. 1-1½ Okie and crossbred heifers to weigh 725 pounds at $68; in Oklahoma for April 140 similar steers to weigh 750 at $72, and for current delivery 70 similar heifers weighing 700 at $69; in the Texas Panhandle for current delivery 520 exotic cross steers weighing 750 at $73, also 160 similar heifers weighing 575 at $72, 80 such heifers weighing 675 at $70, and a load of No. 1-1½ Okie and crossbred heifers weighing 700-725 at $70.

Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, bought in the country 250 No. 1 fancy Charolais cross steer and heifer calves weighing 375 and 350 pounds at $105 and $95 with a 10-cent slide, weighed on the truck with a two percent shrink. The firm sold to a Central Texas buyer one load of No. 1 and better English steers weighing 499 at $89 delivered; to an Oklahoma buyer nine loads of No. 1 and better feeder steers weighing 798 at $68.15 f.o.b. West Texas; to Texas Panhandle buyers a short load of No. 1½ fleshy English and English-Brahman cross steers weighing 586 at $64 delivered, also a short load of similar steers, solid colors, weighing 680 at $63 delivered.

USDA reports 10,750 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Oklahoma range, including: for August delivery medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 750 pounds at $74; for May similar steers to weigh 800 at $70; for April similar steers to weigh 775 at $72; for current delivery steers weighing 650 at $75.50, 700 pounds at $74, 750-780 pounds at $71.50-73, 800-850 pounds at $70-72, and 850-860 pounds at $68.75-70.

Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as confirmed by USDA totaled 3600 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 575 pounds brought $83 f.o.b. Oregon, 800-850 pounds $71 f.o.b. Oregon and Idaho, 850 pounds $70 delivered in Washington, and 800 pounds for May delivery $72 f.o.b. Idaho; similar heifers weighing 575 were $75 f.o.b. Oregon, 625 pounds $71 f.o.b. Washington, and 800 pounds $68.50 f.o.b. Oregon.

Montana direct feeder cattle trade by USDA count came to 2310 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 625-650 pounds were $80-82, a string weighing 750 pounds $73, 800-825 pounds $70-71, and 850-875 pounds $69-70; similar heifers weighing 700-725 pounds made $66-67, all prices f.o.b. for current delivery.
