Vernon Morgan of Amarillo is reported to have sold 130
mixed yearlings at $18 and $20 to Dale Schooler of
Amarillo; these were off wheat in the Happy area and were
delivered March 2 in Amarillo.

Neal Edwards of White Deer, Texas, sold five loads of
mixed yearlings weighing 600 pounds at $18 for heifers
and $20.50 for steers to Bob Andis of Pampa; these were
delivered February 27 off wheat pasture.

Willie Miers of Sonora this week sold and delivered
2200 wooled feeder lambs weighing around 85 pounds at
$19.50 for shipment to Kansas feedlots.

Company, Fort Worth, February 28 delivery.

Foster Pickett, Amarillo, sold 270 choice quality
mixed calves estimated to weigh about 450 pounds at $34
straight across to Kenneth LaFon of Amarillo for March 14
delivery.

Crockett Kehoe and Billy Hulett of Amarillo sold 90
steer calves weighing 491 pounds at $33 and 50 heifer
calves weighing 435 at $31.50 and delivered them last
Friday to Barrick Cattle Co., Amarillo.

Martin Domke of Greeley, Colo., is reported to have
bought 300 heifers in the Wichita Falls, Texas, area for
July delivery at $27.57; the heifers are expected to
average 600-650 pounds at delivery.

Ray Koehler of Dalhart sold 100 steers, fed about 120
days and estimated to weigh 1050 pounds, at $25 for
delivery this month to a local packer buyer.

Ray Burger & Son of Groom, Texas, sold 134 steers
weighing around 700 pounds at $26 with 30 head out at $24
to George Smoker of Amarillo, delivered Feb. 28.

Travis Payne, Canyon, sold 1200 steer yearlings
expected to weigh 650 pounds and described as medium
quality Herefords, Angus and a few mixed breeds at $21 to
R&L Cattle Co., Oklahoma City.

the first fall lamb contract of the year, 3500 mixed
blackface lambs in the Stanford area at $17.50 for fall
delivery.

Elmo Pinnell, Adrian, sold 160 heifer calves weighing
425 pounds at $22.25 to an Amarillo buyer through Ray
Barber, Amarillo broker.

Lubbock, 172 steers weighing 1112 pounds, high good and
choice, at $19.50 f.o.b. the Diedrichsen feedlots at

delivered to the plant from Ike Emmert, Shamrock; and 68
good and choice steers weighing 1100 at $19.50 f.o.b.

Coachella Valley Feed Yards, Coachella, Calif., sold
1250 steers weighing 975 pounds and grading 70 percent
choice after 165 days on feed at $30 to a Los Angeles
packer. The cattle had been put together as calves in the
Brady, Texas area.

Boise City Feed Yards, Boise City, Okla., sold 100
good and choice 900 pound heifers at $26; 108 mostly
choice 1100 pound steers at $28 and 164 mostly choice
1150 pound steers at $27.

Chaparral Cattle Co., Kerrville, bought 150 springing
Hereford cows from Felix Fisher Ranch, Hunt, including 40
four year-olds at $240, the rest six year-olds at $225.

Shirley Tuttle, San Marcos, bought 200 Hereford steers
expected to weigh about 600 pounds at $28.25 from the Tom
O'Connor Ranch, Crystal City, for delivery off oatfields
May 1; also 105 crossbred steers to weigh about 700 at
$27 from G.S. Bodine, San Marcos, for delivery off
oatfields and grass May 1-10.

About 24,000 spring lambs have been sold in the
Phoenix area at $40.50-41 for delivery over about six
weeks starting March 14. Sellers included Earl Dobson,
Sheep Spring Co., Wilaha Sheep Co., Marcus & Goodrich
and Redhill Sheep Co. The lambs are expected to weigh
95-105 pounds.

Monier & Co., Worland, Wyo., sold 25,000 pounds of
January and February lamb wools for 83 cents a pound,
grease, and about 200,000 pounds of shorter fall shorn
lamb wools at 75 cents.

choice steers weighing 738 pounds at $40.35 in Central
Kansas.

sold by Ozona Wool and Mohair Co. for $1.40 per grease
pound.

The Midwest electronic lamb auction sold a load of
lambs out of Iowa at $73.50 shorn, $71.50 wooled, with 30
cents cwt. slide for each pound over 125.

Fed cattle were stretching toward their all-time high
this week, a significant number of steers selling for
$79. That put them within 50 cents of their record 1979
top, which lasted about as long as a new shine on a steer
buyer's boots.
