for April delivery 1400 No. 1-1½ mostly crossbred steers
to weigh 775 pounds at $70, also 70 similar steers to
weigh 750 at $71; in the Texas Panhandle for April 820
No. 1 and better steers to weigh 750 at $73 and for later
this month 140 No. 1 steers to weigh 775 at $71, plus 240
similar heifers to weigh 700 at $68.
Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in the Texas
Panhandle for delivery later this month 800 choice steers
to weigh 775 pounds at $73.50, also two loads of No. 1
English and exotic cross steers to weigh 775 at $72; for
current delivery 250 similar steers weighing 775 at $73
and two loads of such steers weighing 735 at $72.
USDA reports 10,750 head of feeder cattle selling
direct off Oklahoma range, including: for August delivery
medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 750 pounds at $74;
for May similar steers to weigh 800 at $70; for April
steers to weigh 775 at $72; for current delivery the same
type steers weighing 650 at $75, 700 at $74, 750-780
pounds at $71.50-73, 800-825 pounds at $70-72, and
850-860 pounds at $68.75-70; similar heifers weighing 675
at $68 and 700-750 pounds at $67-70.
Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as
confirmed by USDA totaled 2500 head. Medium and large No.
1 steers weighing 850 pounds brought $71 delivered in
Washington and Idaho, similar heifers weighing 800 $70
f.o.b. Idaho for June delivery.
Montana direct feeder cattle trade by USDA count came
to 2200 heade. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 750
pounds were $72, 800 pounds $70-71, and 850-900 pounds
$69-70; similar heifers weighing 700-750 pounds were $67,
all f.o.b. prices for current delivery.
