Abilene Feeder Steer,
Heifer Prices Higher

ABILENE —(March 9)— Feeder steers under 600 pounds sold $1-2 higher, heavier weights steady, heifers $1 higher, slaughter cows and bulls mostly steady, stock cows and pairs steady. Receipts totaled 1423 head.

Feeder steers: medium and large No. 1 400-500 lbs. $90-97, 500-600 lbs. $81-87.50, 600-700 lbs. $70-76, 700-800 lbs. $66.50-71.50, 800-900 lbs. $63.50-67.50.

Feeder heifers; medium and large No. 1 300-400 lbs. $85-95, 400-500 lbs. $77-83, 500-600 lbs. $73-79.50, 600-700 lbs. $68-72, 10 head 602 lbs. $75, 700-800 lbs. $64.50-69.

Slaughter cows: breakers $33.50-36.50, boners $34-36.50, high dressing $37-38.50, lean 900-1200 lbs. $31-34.50, 750-900 lbs. $29-33.50, under 750 lbs. $27.50-32; yield grade 1-2 bulls 1300-2100 lbs. $38.50-48, high dressing $46.50-50, 1000-1300 lbs. $41-47.

Stock cows: medium and large 1-2 young 800-1150 lbs. 4-8 months bred $470-520 per head, aged 1000-1100 lbs. 6-8 months bred $380-460; medium and large 1-2 young 850-1100 lb. cows with 75-150 lb. calves $540-620 per pair.
