Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought in North Texas for May delivery 480 No. 1-1½ mostly exotic heifers to weigh 600 pounds at $70.50; in the Texas Panhandle for current delivery 130 No. 1 and better steers weighing 775 at $71, also 140 No. 1-1½ steers weighing 750 at $70, and 420 No. 1-1½ Okie and crossbred heifers weighing 700 at $67.

Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in the Texas Panhandle for April delivery three loads of No. 1 English and exotic cross steers to weigh 775 pounds at $68.50; for current delivery one load of No. 1 exotic cross steers weighing 800 at $68, and a load of similar heifers weighing 725 at $66.

H&K Livestock, Carlsbad, N.M., sold to a Kansas buyer 85 cow-calf pairs, 3-4 year-old English cross cows with calves from babies to 400 pounds, at $700 per pair.

Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold to a Kansas buyer one load of No. 1 and better English and English cross feeder heifers, mostly blacks, weighing 675 pounds at $70 delivered; to West Texas buyers a short load of No. 1 black English-Brahman cross steers off wheat weighing 675 at $66 f.o.b. the ranch, also a load of Holstein steers weighing 750 at $55.40 f.o.b.

USDA reports 6945 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Oklahoma range, including: for August delivery medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 750 pounds at $74; for May similar steers to weigh 750 at $71-72 and 800-825 pounds at $67.75-70.25; for current delivery steers weighing 750-775 at $70.50-72, 800-825 pounds at $69-71, 850 pounds at $66.50, and 900 pounds at $65; similar heifers weighing 700-725 pounds at $66-68, and 750 pounds at $67.

Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as confirmed by USDA totaled 7450 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 750 pounds brought $71 f.o.b. Idaho, 850-900 pounds $70-71 early f.o.b. Washington and Idaho, 850 pounds $70.50 early and $68-68.50 late, delivered in Washington and Idaho; similar heifers weighing 750-800 pounds were $68 f.o.b. Washington and Idaho.

Montana direct feeder cattle trade by USDA count came to 2270 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 600 pounds made $82.50, a load at 685 pounds $74, and 800-850 pounds $70-71; similar heifers weighing 550 pounds were $78.50, a load at 640 pounds $72, and 750-775 pounds $66-68.50, all f.o.b. prices for current delivery.
