William B. Wilson of San Angelo this week sold 70 clipped lambs expected to weigh around 85 pounds for delivery next week to Russell Hays of San Angelo at $18.50 cwt.

Boots Harlan of Clovis, New Mexico, bought 137 steers weighing 405 pounds off cake and grass in the area at $20.50 on order for a Kansas buyer; these were delivered March 11.

Herbert Butts of Spearman, Texas, bought four loads of plain quality steer yearlings weighing 600 pounds off wheat at $17.50 from Jerry Berger of Spearman, March 13 delivery.

Reed Curtis of Amarillo sold 317 heifer yearlings weighing 600 pounds at $17.40, March 15 delivery, to Fred Hill of Phoenix, Arizona.

L.H. Woodford of Hereford, Texas, sold 162 heifer yearlings weighing 530 pounds at $31 and delivered them off wheat March 14 to Fred Fuqua, Tascosa, Texas.

Frank Fuller of Clovis bought 300 longfed steers weighing about 1050 pounds for delivery this week at $27, delivered to the plant, from Bogle & Hance, Clovis.

Cliff Neafus of Newkirk, N.M., sold 90 heifer yearlings and 275 steer yearlings estimated to weigh around 500 pounds for delivery this week off cake and grass at $32 and $34 for heifers and steers, respectively, to Buster Wheat of Allen, Kan.

Gibb Timms of Rush Springs, Okla., sold 110 steers averaging 975 pounds at $25 and delivered them March 14 to Nebraska feeders through Ab Wright, Amarillo.

Hereford Feed Lots delivered two loads of choice steers weighing 1300 pounds at $20.25 to John Hankins, Pampa, buying for an El Paso packer.

Fred Daugherty, Clovis, sold 316 heifers weighing 476 pounds at $23 with a 10-mile haul and two percent shrink; these are described as choice quality Herefords.

Elmer Rigoni, Roy, N.M., sold 120 steers described as good and choice Mexican Herefords weighing under 400 pounds at $110 per head to Ellen Scott, Roy.

Among recent calf trades was the purchase by a northeastern New Mexico operator of 1200 heifer and steer calves weighing 340 pounds at $24 and $26 in the Lordsburg, N.M. area.

Howard Martindale, Rocksprings, Texas, weaned a registered Charolais bull at exactly eight months of age when he weighed 1070 pounds. At 205 days of age the calf weighed 905 pounds.

J.H. Martin, Spearman, sold 425 No. 1 Okie steers weighing 616 at $27.90 hauled 10 miles and weighed straight to Lynn Hart, Gruver.

Mrs. Mattie Price and her son Tommy Price, Tatum, N.M., sold 900 Hereford and Okie steers expected to weigh 650-675 at $27 for Nov. 1 delivery shrunk three percent to Lewis Cooper, Kenna, N.M.

Charlie Hoover and J.T. Gilbreath, Hereford, were reported to have sold 416 good Okie 575 pound steers at $30.

Tom Reed, Amarillo, sold 870 No. 1 and a few No. 2 Okie steers expected to weigh 600-625 pounds at $30 delivered off wheat, hauled 30 miles and weighed straight, to a feeder who plans to finish them in Three R Feed Yards, Hereford; 300 similar quality heifers to weigh 500 at $27 for delivery this week, hauled a short distance and shrunk 1½ percent; 600 No. 1 Okie steers weighing about 450 at $150 a head.

Swift & Co. bought about 18,000 spring lambs weighing mostly 95-100 pounds at $39 f.o.b. the Phoenix area from Bob, Rudy and Phil Echeverria, John Aleman, J.B. and Gene Etchemende and Gunther Thude; about 8500 in California, mostly in the Bakersfield area, at $38.50 f.o.b., similar weights.

Homer Hill, Hart, bought in the Tulia area 77 Okie steers weighing 651 pounds at $40 payweight.

D.T. Cattle Co., Vega, Texas, sold to a local buyer 105 Angus and black baldface steers weighing 607 pounds at $44, delivered.

Cattle and calves on feed dropped half a million head during February to 8.21 million March 1, six percent fewer than Feb. 1, one percent fewer than a year ago but nine percent more than two years ago.

Producers Wool and Mohair in Uvalde has sold a container of average adult mohair at $1.40. A Texas mohair buyer says actual sales have been scarce.
