Feeder Cattle Higher

SAN ANGELO — All classes of sheep and lambs sold steady this week. Two day receipts totaled an estimated 12,000 head and included around 40 percent feeder lambs at a special spring lamb sale.

Feeder steers and heifers sold firm to $2 higher last week, slaughter cows and bulls firm to $1 higher, stock cows and pairs firm. Receipts totaled 3200 head.

Feeder lambs: medium and large 1-2 newcrop 40-60 lbs. $90-99, 60-70 lbs. $82-87, 70-90 lbs. $80-86.50, 90-100 lbs. $78-82, set 85, oldcrop 70-90 lbs. $70-78, 90-100 lbs. $69.50-74; medium and large No. 2 newcrop 40-60 lbs. $80-90, 60-70 lbs. $78-82, 70-90 lbs. $75-80.

Slaughter lambs: choice 2-3 shorn and wooled 100-130 lbs. $64-70, few $71-72, 130-165 lbs. $60-66, newcrop choice 2-3 95-120 lbs. $73-76.50, good and choice 1-2 40-50 lbs. $105-110; slaughter ewes good and choice 2-4 $35-45, utility and good 1-3 $42-52, set $53.75, utility 1-2 $37-42.50, cull and utility 1-2 $30-37, bucks $33-44.
