Abilene Feeder Steer,
Heifer Prices Higher

ABILENE —(March 23)— Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $2 higher, slaughter cows and bulls steady, stock cows $20 higher, pairs steady. Receipts totaled 815 head.

Feeder steers: medium and large No. 1 300-400 lbs. $95-106, few 348 lbs. $114, 400-500 lbs. $85-95, 500-600 lbs. $76-85, 600-700 lbs. $74.50-80, 700-800 lbs. $67-71.

Feeder heifers: medium and large No. 1 300-400 lbs. $84-93, 400-500 lbs. $77-84.50, 500-600 lbs. $74-82, 600-700 lbs. $68-73.50, 700-800 lbs. $64-68, 800-900 lbs. $57-62.

Slaughter cows: breakers $32.50-37.50, boners $35.50-37.50, high dressing $38-42, lean 900-1200 lbs. $32.50-35.50, 750-1000 lbs. $29-34, under 750 lbs. $27.50-33.50; yield grade 1-2 bulls 1300-2100 lbs. $43-48, high dressing $48.50-51, 1000-1300 lbs. $38.50-46.50.

Stock cows: medium and large 1-2 young 900-1450 lbs. 5-8 months bred $500-590 per head, aged 1000-1300 lbs. 4-8 months bred $390-490; young 900-1200 lb. cows with 100-200 lb. calves $580-650 per pair, aged 1000-1250 lb. cows with 150-200 lb. calves $470-575.
