Texas Panhandle for July delivery three loads of No. 1
English and exotic cross steers to weigh 800 pounds at
$73, and for current delivery two loads of similar steers
weighing 725 at $71; in West Texas for May delivery 1200
No. 1½ crossbred heifers to weigh 550 at $75; in Western
Oklahoma for May four loads of No. 1 English and exotic
cross heifers to weigh 700 at $68.
Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought in Oklahoma for
May delivery 420 No. 1½ Okie and crossbred steers to
weigh 750 pounds at $68.50; in North Texas for current
delivery 70 No. 1-1½ crossbred steers weighing 750 at
$69, also 175 No. 1 Okie and crossbred steers weighing
800 at $66 and 100 similar heifers weighing 675-700 at
the same price.
Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold on a delivered basis to
Texas Panhandle buyers one load of English and Brahman
cross steers with a few bulls, in grass flesh, weighing
449 pounds at $93.60, also a load of fancy No. 1 English
and Brahman cross heifers in grass flesh, weighing 460 at
$82.93; to local buyers a short load of mostly black and
black whiteface No. 1 English cross heifers weighing 369
at $89.33 f.o.b., worked and processed, also a short load
of mostly black, black whiteface and red whiteface
heifers, no horns, weighing 931 at $49.16 delivered, and
a short load of heavy bred black Angus cows, four to six
years old and 1133 pounds, at $606 per head f.o.b.
USDA reports 7400 head of feeder cattle selling direct
off Oklahoma range, including: for June delivery medium
and large No. 1 steers to weigh 750 pounds at $71; for
May similar heifers to weigh 700 at $69; for current
delivery steers weighing 700-750 at $72-73, 750-775
pounds $69-72, 800-825 pounds $67-69, and 900-935 pounds
$62.50-63; similar heifers weighing 625 at $69, 675-725
pounds at $66-68, 750 pounds at $63, and 825 pounds at
$61.
Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as
confirmed by USDA totaled 3100 head. Medium and large No.
1 steers to weigh 875 pounds brought $70 f.o.b. Oregon
for June and July delivery, similar heifers to weigh 800
pounds $67; steers for current delivery weighing 750-800
were $67-68 f.o.b. Idaho and 850 pounds $68 f.o.b.
Oregon; heifers weighing 800 were $65 f.o.b. Oregon.
Direct feeder cattle trade in Montana by USDA count
came to 1810 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing
600 pounds brought $82, 750-800 pounds $69-70, 800-825
pounds $68-69, and 875 pounds $66; similar heifers
weighing 600-650 pounds made $75, 650 pounds $72, and 800
pounds $65, all f.o.b. prices for current delivery.
