Lamb Prices Steady

GOLDTHWAITE —(USDA)— Feeder lambs sold fully steady, slaughter lambs $3 lower, slaughter ewes $3-5 higher, stock ewes and lambs $5 higher; slaughter Angora kids $2 higher, other Angora classes $2 lower; slaughter Spanish kids and muttons $8-12 higher, other classes steady to $2 higher, stock nannies $3 higher. Receipts totaled 4500 head.

Sheep: medium and large No. 1 feeder lambs 50-75 lbs. $87-98, 80-100 lbs. $80-87, oldcrop 75-95 lbs. $68-72; choice and prime 2-3 slaughter lambs 120-145 lbs. $60.50-66.50, good 2-3 slaughter ewes $47-54.50, utility 2-3 $38-44, cull $27-35, bucks $35-46; medium and large 1-2 ewes with lambs $47-54 each; Barbado lambs 40-60 lbs. $66-81 cwt., ewes 55-75 lbs. $43-56, bucks $50-150 per head.

Angora goats: stock nannies 55-70 lbs. $50-62 cwt., fat slaughter muttons and billies 100-125 lbs. $47-54, kids 30-60 lbs. $66-82, yearlings 60-75 lbs. $63-67, thin nannies and muttons $42-49.

Spanish goats: choice and prime slaughter kids 15-35 lbs. $85-102 cwt., 35-65 lbs. $90-106, good $70-80, nannies 75-125 lbs. $52-59, thin $35-49, muttons 85-150 lbs. $63-90, billies 80-160 lbs. $65-83; young stock nannies $35-49, nannies with kids $20-31.50 each, Boer cross nannies $70-110 per head, kids 50-60 lbs. $110-117, billies 80-95 lbs. $97-100.
