Abilene Feeder Steer,
Heifer Prices Steady

ABILENE —(May 4)— Feeder steers and heifers sold mostly steady, slaughter cows and bulls $1-3 higher, stock cows steady, pairs $40-60 higher. Receipts totaled 990 head.

Feeder steers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $105-114, 300-400 lbs. $90-97, 400-500 lbs. $82-89.50, 500-600 lbs. $78-85, 600-700 lbs. $67.50-i73, 700-800 lbs. $65.50-71.50, 800-900 lbs. $63-66.

Feeder heifers: medium and large No. 1 300-400 lbs. $81-86, 400-500 lbs. $74-82.50, 500-600 lbs. $71.50-77, 600-700 lbs. $67-72, 700-800 lbs. $62-65.50, 800-900 lbs. $57.60-62.50.

Slaughter cows: breakers $33-37, boners, $36-36.50, high dressing $40-42, lean 900-1200 lbs. $34-36, 750-900 lbs. $31-34.50, under 750 lbs. $29-33.50; yield grade 1-2 bulls 1300-2100 lbs. $45-49, high dressing $40-44.

Stock cows: medium and large 1-2 young 900-1300 lbs. 6-8 months bred $470-550 per head, aged 1000-1150 lbs. 4-8 months bred $360-460; young 1000-1250 lb. cows with 100-250 lb. calves $650-740 per pair, aged 950-1200 lb. cows with 75-200 lb. calves $525-630.
