Angelo Lambs Higher,
Feeder Cattle Steady
SAN ANGELO Feeder lambs sold firm to $2 higher
this week, slaughter lambs $8-9 higher, slaughter ewes
$2-4 lower. Receipts totaled 15,231 at the regular
auction and 7500 lambs at a Wednesday teleconference
sale. Slaughter ewes made up about 70 percent of the
regular auction.
Feeder steers and heifers sold steady last week,
slaughter cows and bulls steady, stock cows and pairs
steady to firm. Receipts totaled 5675 head.
Feeder lambs: medium and large 1-2 50-70 lbs. $88-92,
70-90 lbs. $85-91, set $92, 90-100 lbs. $84-87; medium
and large No. 2 50-70 lbs. $83-87, 70-90 lbs. $80-85.
Teleconference lambs were mostly for delivery during
May. A total of 7500 were offered and 6500 sold. Weights
70-100 lbs. brought $87.75-90.25.
Slaughter lambs: choice 2-3 shorn and wooled 100-130
lbs. $74.50-81, set $92, 130-145 lbs. $70-75; good and
choice 2-4 slaughter ewes $34-44, few $45-48, utility and
good 1-3 $44-55, few $56-58, utility 1-2 $34-45, cull and
utility 1-2 $25-34; bucks $35-45, few $46-48; breeding
bucks $100-240 per head.
Goats: slaughter meat type billies 100-150 lbs.
