Blair Burk Moves Into Second
With California Earnings

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Calf roper Blair Burk, Durant, Okla., won more money — $4954 — than any other PRCA cowboy last weekend. He won $3995 and the calf roping average title at the $113,570 Clovis Rodeo in Clovis, Calif., and $999 the night before at the Auburn Wild West Stampede in Auburn, Calif.

The California prize money helped bump Burk to second place, ahead of reigning world champ Cody Ohl, in this week's Crown Royal world calf roping standings.

In the all-around competition, Fred Whitfield, Hockley, Texas, leads the pack with $71,760. He is followed by Herbert Theriot, Poplarville, Miss., with $37,169; Chad Hagan, Leesville, La., $33,091; Joe Beaver, Huntsville, Texas, $27,806; and Robert Bowers, Brooks, Alberta, Canada, $27,793.
