The Midland and Ector county offices of the Texas
Agricultural Extension Service will sponsor a
Farm/Recreational Pond Field Day on Tuesday, June 22. The
field day will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at noon.
Topics to be presented include: pond management, pond
site selection and construction, stocking of ponds,
fertilizing to increase production, pond ecology,
harvesting fish to maintain balance, and pond weed
control.
A $5 per person registration fee will be charged and
participants will be eligible to earn one CEU.
The Reece Farm is located off Interstate 20 in
Midland. To get to the farm take the Rankin Hwy. Exit off
I-20. Go north on the Rankin Highway and turn west on
Stokes Avenue. Follow the lane until it deadends at the
Reece Farm.

The U.S. Meat Export Federation sees signs of economic
recovery in Korea, an important beef export market.
Diners are said to re returning to upscale restaurants at
levels not seen since before the country's economic
collapse. In addition, sales at Seoul's top department
stores are up 44 percent over last year and household
spending is up nine percent. First-quarter imports of
U.S. beef were up 159 percent in volume at 25,909 metric
tons and 97 percent in value at $67.8 million.
