Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in North Texas for current delivery two loads of No. 1 English and exotic cross steers weighing 775 pounds at $76.50; in Northeast Texas for current delivery 850 No. 1½ crossbred heifers weighing 700 at $70.50 and two loads of No. 1 crossbred heifers weighing 720 at $70.50.

Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold to a New Mexico buyer one load of No. 1 English and English-Brahman cross steers weighing 417 pounds at $91.32; to a Kansas buyer two loads of No. 1 and better black, black whiteface and Charolais-Hereford cross steers weighing 467 at $88.20 f.o.b.; to a Texas Panhandle buyer one load of English and English-Brahman cross steers weighing 450 at $86.93 delivered; to a Central Texas buyer two loads of thin No. 1-1½ English and English-Brahman cross heifers weighing 555 at $75 delivered.

USDA reports 11,750 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Oklahoma range, including: for March 2000 delivery medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 750 pounds at $76; for November similar steers to weigh 500 at $92.50 and 750 pounds at $78; for October steers to weigh 525 at $90.50-91, 575 pounds at $89 and a set of 635 pound yearlings at $82.50, also heifers to weigh 500 at $84 and 725 pounds at $74; for September steers to weigh 750-785 pounds at $75-76 and 800 pounds at $74-76.50, also heifers to weigh 725 at $73; for current delivery steers weighing 600 at $84, 650 pounds at $82.50, 750-775 pounds at $75-78, 800-825 pounds at $74-77.50, 850-875 pounds at $72-74.50, and 925 pounds at $70; similar heifers weighing 650 at $74.50-75 and 725-750 pounds at $73-74.

Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as confirmed by USDA totaled 1150 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 500 pounds brought $88 f.o.b. Idaho for November; for current delivery steers weighing 700-725 were $75 f.o.b. Oregon and 700-725 pounds $76.50 delivered in Idaho; similar heifers weighing 700 pounds were $71 f.o.b. Oregon.

Montana direct feeder cattle trade by USDA count came to 10,300 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 650 pounds brought $85 for November delivery, similar heifers weighing 540 pounds $78.50; for October steers to weigh 500-550 pounds brought $90-93, 550-600 pounds $86-88.50, 600-650 pounds $82-86 and a string to weigh 850 pounds $75.50; similar heifers for October to weigh 500-550 brought $80-83 and 550-600 pounds $77-80; for current delivery steers weighing 700-750 pounds were $81-82.50, 850-900 pounds $74-75 and 900-950 pounds $72-73; similar heifers weighing 650-700 pounds were $77-78, 800-850 pounds $72-74, one load weighing 900 pounds $71.
