Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought in New Mexico for November delivery 2200 No. 1-1½ Okie steers to weigh 800 pounds at $77, and for current delivery 400 No. 1 heifers weighing 735 at $73; in the Texas Panhandle for current delivery 150 No. 1-1½ Okie and crossbred steers weighing 650 pounds at $78, also 250 similar heifers weighing 600-625 at $78.

Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in Central Texas for November delivery two loads of No. 1 English and exotic cross steers to weigh 725 pounds at $79; in New Mexico for October 750 similar steers to weigh 750 at $77.75; in West Texas for current delivery one load of similar steers weighing 765 at $76.30.

Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold on a delivered basis to Texas Panhandle buyers one load of No. 1 and better English steers and bulls weighing 411 pounds at $97.37, also one load of No. 1 and better English and Brahman cross steers and bulls, one-eighth to one-half ear, weighing 434 at $93.74; to New Mexico buyers a short load of No. 1½ and toppy No. 2 cutting bulls weighing 650 at $71.63 and a load of similar cutting bulls weighing 721 at $67.39.

USDA reports 2050 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Oklahoma range, including: for October delivery medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 725 pounds at $78 and 800-850 pounds at $74-75, also similar heifers to weigh 700 at $74; for current delivery similar steers weighing 750-775 at $76-77 and 800-825 pounds at $74.50-76, also such heifers weighing 725-750 at $73.50-74.

Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as confirmed by USDA totaled 2250 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 575 pounds brought $85 f.o.b. Idaho, 850-875 pounds $74 f.o.b. Oregon and $73-74 delivered in Washington and Idaho, 925 pounds $73.50 f.o.b. Washington; similar heifers weighing 700 pounds were $72 f.o.b. Washington, 800-850 pounds $71 f.o.b. Oregon.

Montana direct feeder cattle trade by USDA count came to 5220 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 500-550 pounds for October delivery were $89-92 and 600-650 pounds $84-85, similar heifers to weigh 500 pounds $84-86.50; for current delivery, steers weighing 850-900 pounds were $74-74.25 and 900-950 pounds $70.50-73; similar heifers weighing 775-800 pounds were $72-73.
