Jimmy Mills of Del Rio is reported to have bought around 25,000 lambs in that territory so far this season for immediate to November delivery, at $15 to mostly $16, though he sold some heavy mutton lambs last week at $14.50 which he had bought on earlier contract.

Claude Garrett of Ofia, N.M., sold 170 Angus steer yearlings weighing 700 pounds to Colorado feeders at $19, and 110 heifer yearlings estimated to weigh 650 pounds at $17.50 for September 15 to October 20 delivery.

George Baxter of Clovis, N.M., has sold and delivered 163 mixed yearlings to a Texas Panhandle buyer at $16.50 for the heifers and $19 for the steers.

Loyd Thorp of Panhandle bought 260 steer yearlings weighing about 700 pounds from Shot Miller of Amarillo for October delivery off grass near Las Vegas, N.M., at $19.50.

Stinson Martin of Dunlap, N.M., is reported to have sold his calves for late October delivery at $20 for heifers and $22.50 for steers.

McManus Bros., San Angelo, last week sold about 600 Rambouillet yearling ewes from their ranch near Rankin at $22 per head to a couple of San Angelo ranchers.

Travis Killough of Fort Sumner, N.M., sold 60 cows expected to weigh around 1000 pounds at $16 cwt. for October delivery to an Oklahoma buyer.

Dan Guseman of Hereford, Texas, last week delivered 170 heifer yearlings averaging 685 pounds at $27 to Gene Prey of Amarillo; these were contracted about a month ago.

W.N. Barrick of Amarillo sold off his ranch at Ft. Pierre, S.D., 330 short two year-old steers averaging 857 pounds at $26.50, delivered last week to northern Iowa feeders.

Bill Christmas of Portales, N.M., bought 85 steer yearlings at $26.50 weighing 690 and received them last week from Bugger Mullins, Clovis.

E.P. Texier, Logan, N.M., sold 600 Brangus heifers weighing about 700 pounds at $16 and 700 Brangus steers expected to weigh near 750 at $18 for Oct. 20 delivery to Cecil Cornelius, Denver order buyer.

Fran and R.L. Thomas, Grenville, N.M., sold and delivered 218 cows and calves at $167.50 per pair and 11 bulls at $275 each to a Boise, Idaho buyer; the cows were 2-4 years old; the bulls 2-3s.

The Paul Horney Estate, Ft. Sumner, N.M., sold 200 choice Hereford steer calves expected to weigh 375-385 pounds for Oct. 15 delivery at $25 to a Denver buyer.

Elmer Rigoni, Roy, N.M., sold 400 steer yearlings expected to weigh about 625 pounds at $19.30 for Oct. 1 delivery.

The new Producers Grain Corp. feedlot eight miles west of Hale Center, Texas, already had about 3000 cattle eating greenchop and hay cubes. They expected to have the mill finished by Oct. 1. The feedlot was built for 30,000.

Robert Allen, Tulia, bought in the Clarendon area 147 Hereford and black baldface steer yearlings weighing 700 pounds at $30.60.

Butch Lewis, San Saba, bought 2800 mixed whiteface lambs at Marathon averaging about 62 pounds at $28 for muttons, $31 for ewe lambs.

E.D. Webster & sons, San Angelo, sold 2000 Hereford and Angus steer yearlings weighing 600-700 pounds at $29 to $31.50 depending on weight to Mitch McClure of Tescott, Kan.

A.I.D. Feedyard, Ulysses, Kan., bought 101 No. 1 Okie steers averaging 686 pounds in the Texarkana area at $31 delivered to the yards.

Mexico's ban on slaughter ewes continues, and the market slipped again this week by a couple of dollars. Ewes going to packers out of the San Angelo auction topped at about $19-20, the general run of fleshy ewes $16-19, thin kinds $14-17. Some people continue to buy ewes and hold them, speculating on a change for the better.

Central Texas warehouses reportedly have been buying adult hair at the door for around $1 net from growers who want to sell upon delivery.

USDA reports 2450 cattle selling direct off Oklahoma range, all for current delivery, including: medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 750 pounds at $74-75 and 800-825 pounds at $72.50-73; similar heifers weighing 690-725 pounds at $72-73.
