Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in West Texas for November delivery two loads of No. 1 English and exotic cross steers to weigh 725 pounds at $79 and for current delivery one load of similar steers weighing 750 at $77; in Oklahoma for current delivery two loads of No. 1 Okie steers weighing 750 at $78, also five loads of similar heifers weighing 700 at $75; in the Texas Panhandle three loads of No. 1 Okie and exotic heifers weighing 625 at $77 and two loads of similar steers weighing 775 at $76.75; in New Mexico for Oct. 1-10 delivery 12 loads of steers to weigh 750 at 75 cents under the futures board.

Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought in New Mexico for November delivery 550 No. 1 and better steers to weigh 800 pounds at $77.50, for October delivery 450 similar heifers to weigh 750 at $73, and for current delivery 400 No. 1 and better heifers weighing 735 at $73; in the Texas Panhandle for current delivery 90 No. 1-1½ Okie and crossbred steers weighing 600 at $82.50.

Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold to Kansas buyers two loads of No. 1 black, black whiteface, red whiteface and Charolais-English cross steers weighing 434 pounds at $93.22, also two loads of No. 1 and better heifers weighing 398 at $88.22; to a Texas Panhandle buyer two loads of No. 1 steers, mostly English with a few one-eighth to one-quarter Brahman crosses, weighing 429 at $91.39 delivered; to New Mexico buyers one load of No. 1½ to toppy No.2 steers and bulls, English and English-Brahman cross, weighing 368 at $84.29 delivered, also a load of mates weighing 463 at $78.74 delivered, and a short load of No. 2 English and English-Brahman cross bulls in heavy flesh weighing 653 at $67.71 delivered to the feedyard.

USDA reports 4100 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Oklahoma range, including: for January delivery medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 800 pounds at $77; for current delivery similar steers weighing 625 at $82, 675 pounds at $80, 675-780 pounds at $76-78, and 800-825 pounds at $74-76; similar heifers weighing 625 at $77.50, 700 pounds at $74-76, and 750 pounds at $73.

Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as confirmed by USDA totaled 3500 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 550 pounds brought $81 f.o.b. western Oregon, 575 pounds $84 f.o.b. Idaho, 700-725 pounds $77 f.o.b. Oregon, 850-875 pounds $73-74 f.o.b. Oregon and Idaho, and 900-925 pounds $71.50-72 f.o.b. Idaho; similar heifers weighing 500 pounds were $74 f.o.b. western Oregon, 550 pounds $78 f.o.b. Idaho, 750-775 pounds $73 f.o.b. Oregon, 800-850 pounds $70-71.50 f.o.b. Idaho and Oregon, and 900 pounds $67.50 f.o.b. Washington.

Montana direct feeder cattle trade by USDA count came to 6070 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 550-600 pounds brought $90 for November delivery, similar heifers to weigh 500-550 pounds $83-84; for October steers to weigh 500-550 pounds were $9091.50, 600-650 pounds $83-86.75 and 700 pounds $83; similar heifers to weigh 500 were $84 for October, 580 pounds $80.50 and 600-650 pounds $78-80; steers weighing 900-925 pounds were $73-74 for current delivery, one string 960 pounds $71.50.
