U.S. Wool At Stalled,
Aussie Sharply Higher
WASHINGTON (USDA) Domestic wool trading
was at a complete standstill last week, demand and seller
interest both light. Bidding levels continue to decline
with producers and warehouses unwilling to accept bids.
Australia's eastern market indicator closed up six
cents at 554A cents per kilo clean. Clearance was 76
percent on a total offering of 88,072 bales. Grease 21
micron contracts for October were up 19 at 551A, December
up 17 at 569, February up 20 at 586 and April up 20 at
604. Clean wool contracts for 19 micron for October were
up 15 at 978A, December up 38 at 987, February up 34 at
997 and April up 13 at 980. The 23 micron contracts for
October were up six at 408A, December up 15 at 415,
February up six at 417 and
April up six at 466.
No New Zealand sales were reported.
