Most Angelo Heifers,
Steers, Lambs Higher

SAN ANGELO — Feeder lambs weighing less than 60 pounds sold firm to $1 higher this week, heavier weights steady, slaughter lambs not well tested, slaughter ewes $1-4 lower. Two day receipts totaled 17,733 head, around 55 percent slaughter ewes, 10 percent feeder lambs and 35 percent goats.

Feeder steers and heifers sold firm to $1 higher last week, slaughter cows firm to $1 higher, bulls steady, stock cows and pairs steady in a light test. Receipts totaled 5559 head including 2392 calves at Monday’s special feeder sale.

Feeder lambs: medium and large 1-2 40-60 lbs. $77-82, 60-70 lbs. $76-81, 70-90 lbs. $73-77, set ewes $78.50, 90-100 lbs. $73-76; medium and large No. 2 40-60 lbs. $70-77, 60-70 lbs. $70-76, 70-90 lbs. $67.50-73, 90-100 lbs. $68-70.

Slaughter lambs: choice 2-3 shorn and wooled 90-130 lbs. $74-79; good and choice 2-4 slaughter ewes $32-43.50, few $44-45, utility and good 1-3 $36-50, few $52-54, utility 1-2 $28.50-37, cull and utility 1-2 $22-28; bucks $34-41.

Goats: slaughter meat type billies, 100-150 lbs. $60-105 per head, 150-200 lbs. $100-130; nannies, 70-110 lbs. $40-49 cwt., thin 60-90 lbs. $30-40, choice and prime kids and yearlings 40-90 lbs. $76-85, set $88, choice 40-80 lbs. $65-75, good 40-80 lbs. $52-60; stock nannies, 50-65 lbs. $50-55 cwt., 65-110 lbs. $60-66; choice slaughter Angoras 60-115 lbs. $42-48.50 cwt., choice kids 40-65 lbs. $50-59.
