CORRECTION
Hair Price Not Quite
As Rosy As Reported

If last week's report of $8 kid mohair selling at Rocksprings sounded too good to be true, there is a reason — it wasn't true.

Following years in which mohair could hardly be moved at any price, the market has rebounded dramatically over the past several weeks. It hasn't yet hit $8, however, at least not as of the Rocksprings sale. The highest price paid on that offering was $7, for about 5000 pounds of No. 1 kid. Livestock Weekly's $8 figure was provided by a warehouse spokesman, who in turn took it from a bid sheet that was later corrected.

This publication exists first and foremost to provide accurate market information, and errors such as this are as much a consternation to us as they are to our readers. It is doubly disconcerting to dispense inaccurate information to a segment of the industry that has waited so long for good news. We regret any inconvenience, consternation or undue elation the error may have caused.
