Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought in North Texas for January delivery 280 No. 1-1½ Okie and crossbred steers to weigh 775 pounds at $80.50; in New Mexico for current delivery 300 No. 1 steers weighing 775 at $79 and 260 No. 1 heifers weighing 725 at $75; in West Texas for current delivery 170 No. 1 heifers weighing 625 at $78 and 500 similar heifers weighing 650 at $76.

Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in West Texas for current delivery one load of No. 1 English and exotic cross steers weighing 750 pounds at $79.50, also 407 similar steers weighing 715 at $78.

Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold to a Kansas buyer two loads of No. 1 English steers and bulls weighing 414 pounds at $92.04 f.o.b.; to Oklahoma buyers one load of English and one-eighth Brahman cross steers and bulls weighing 468 at $87.92 delivered, also a load of English and exotic cross heifers weighing 439 at $75.62 f.o.b.; to a New Mexico buyer two loads of No. 1 English and Brahman cross steers and bulls weighing 463 at $87.30 delivered; to a West Texas feedyard a short load of No. 1 feeder heifers, mostly blacks, weighing 983 at $56.07 delivered.

USDA reports 7650 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Oklahoma range, including: for March 2000 delivery medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 750 pounds at $78.25; for February similar steers to weigh 800 at $77.25 and for January steers to weigh 750-800 at $80-82; for current delivery steers weighing 600-700 pounds at $81-82.50, 700-775 pounds at $77-80, 800-825 pounds at $76-79, 850 pounds at $74.50-75, and 925 pounds at $72; similar heifers weighing 575-585 pounds for current delivery were $75-78, 675 pounds $76, 725 pounds $74-75.50, and 775 pounds $70.50.

Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as confirmed by USDA totaled 1100 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 500-525 pounds brought $90 and 550-575 pounds $86; similar heifers weighing 500 pounds were $84 and 550 pounds $80, all prices f.o.b. Idaho.

Montana direct feeder cattle sales by USDA count came to 4720 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 480 pounds for November delivery earned $90, 550 pounds $88 and 650 pounds $84.50, similar heifers to weigh 480 pounds $90, 560 pounders of replacement quality $87, and a load to weigh 610 pounds $79.50; for October steers to weigh 550 pounds were $89-92.50 and similar heifers to weigh 500-550 pounds $80-84; for current delivery steers weighing 600 pounds were $84, 700-750 pounds $79-80, 825 pounds $76 and 900-925 pounds $73-74, heifers weighing 800 pounds $77 and 850 pounds $73-75.50.
