ABILENE —(Oct. 5)— Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $1 higher, slaughter cows $1 higher, bulls mostly steady, stock cows $10-20 higher. Receipts totaled 2146 head.

Feeder steers: medium and large No. 1 300-400 lbs. $103-113, 400-500 lbs. $95-103, 500-600 lbs. $79.50-86, 600-700 lbs. $74-79, 700-800 lbs. $70-74.50, 800-900 lbs. $68-70.50.

Feeder heifers: medium and large No. 1 300-400 lbs. $83-90, 400-500 lbs. $79-85, 500-600 lbs. $74-79, 600-700 lbs. $70-74.50, 700-800 lbs. $63-67, 800-900 lbs. $57-62.

Slaughter cows: breakers $29-35, boners $34-39, lean 1000-1200 lbs. $32-36.50, under 800 lbs. $27-33; yield grade 1-2 bulls 1300-2100 lbs. $45-48.50.

Stock cows: medium and large 1-2 young 900-1200 lbs. 7-8 months bred $560-660 per head, aged 900-1250 lbs. 4-8 months bred $460-550; medium and large 1-2 young 950-1300 lb. cows with 75-150 lb. calves $590-680 per pair.
