USDA reports 3100 head of feeder cattle selling direct
off Oklahoma range, including: for March 2000 delivery
medium and large No. 1 heifers to weigh 650 pounds at
$77; for February similar steers to weigh 800 at $77.75;
for January steers to weigh 750 at $80.35-82; for
November medium and large 1-2 steers to weigh 775 at
$78.50; for current delivery medium and large No. 1
steers weighing 700-735 at $80-82 and 750 pounds at $80,
also similar heifers weighing 600 at $78, 675 pounds at
$77 and 700-725 pounds at $76-77.
Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as
confirmed by USDA totaled 1300 head. Medium and large No.
1 steers weighing 500 pounds brought $99 f.o.b. Idaho,
625 pounds $85 f.o.b. Idaho, and 875 pounds $72 f.o.b.
Idaho; heifers weighing 575 pounds were $80 f.o.b. Idaho,
750 pounds $74 f.o.b. Oregon, and 850 pounds $70 f.o.b.
Idaho.
Montana direct feeder cattle trade by USDA count came
to 5365 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 550
pounds for November delivery brought $89 and similar
heifers to weigh 500 were $83; for October steers to
weigh 525 were $92.75, 550 pounds $90-92.50 and 600-650
pounds $86-88, similar heifers to weigh 500-550 pounds
$82-85 and 600 pounds $80-84.50; for current delivery
steers weighing 760 pounds brought $78.50 and 850-875
pounds $77-79, heifers weighing 725 pounds $76.50 and a
load weighing 850 pounds $74.
