Brown Cattle Co., Abilene, sold to Kansas buyers one
load of No. 1 and better mostly black English steers and
bulls weighing 417 pounds at $90.12 f.o.b., also three
loads of No. 1 English and quarter-Brahman cross steers
and bulls weighing 525 at $83.97 delivered, and a load of
No. 1 black and black whiteface cows, running ages and
mostly six months or better bred, at $575 per head
delivered; to a Texas Panhandle buyer one load of English
and English cross heifers weighing 325 at $87.60
delivered; to a Colorado buyer three loads of No. 1 and
better English steers weighing 661 at $78.39 delivered;
to an Oklahoma buyer a load of No. 1 and better English
feeder steers weighing 678 at $76 delivered. The firm
received in Central Texas six loads of black English and

USDA reports 3850 head of feeder cattle selling direct
off Oklahoma range, including: for May 2000 delivery
medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 750-775 pounds at
$80; for April similar steers to weigh 750 at $81; for
January similar steers to weigh 750 pounds at $81; for
current delivery steers weighing 585 pounds at $83, 675
pounds at $81, 700 pounds at $80-81, 750-775 pounds at
$80-81, and 800 pounds at $78; similar heifers weighing
550 pounds at $77.50 and 700 pounds at $77.
Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as
confirmed by USDA totaled 4600 head. Medium and large No.

$84.50; similar steers weighing 460 pounds were $99 for
