for March delivery four loads of No. 1 English and exotic
cross steers to weigh 800 pounds at $80; in Central Texas
for current delivery three loads of similar steers

current delivery five loads of such steers weighing 750
at $78; in West Texas for current delivery two loads of

load of No. 1 and better English steers and bulls, black
and black whiteface, weighing 417 pounds at $93 f.o.b.;
to Colorado buyers one load of No. 1 English and
one-eighth Brahman cross steers and bulls weighing 519 at
$81 and a load of similar steers and bulls weighing 624
at $78.32, both f.o.b.; to Texas Panhandle buyers a short
load of English bull calves weighing 461 at $83.79 and a
short load of No. 2 feeder steers weighing 779 at $71.22,
also a load of No. 1½ to toppy No. 2 cutting bulls in
medium to better flesh, weighing 681 at $71.59, plus a
load of similar heifers weighing 687 at $69.32, all
delivered basis; to a West Texas feedlot a short load of
mostly black heifers weighing 999 at $64.61 delivered; to
a Central Texas buyer a load of thin, big-framed feeder
cows, mostly blacks, weighing 893 at $38.73 f.o.b.
USDA reports 3900 head of feeder cattle selling direct
off Oklahoma range, including: for May 2000 delivery
medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 750-775 pounds at
$77.75-79; for April similar steers to weigh 775 pounds
at $78.75; for March similar heifers to weigh 725 at $73;
for February similar steers to weigh 800 at $77.50-77.75;
for January steers to weigh 750 at $81; for current
delivery steers weighing 625 at $78.50 and 725-790 pounds
at $77-80.
Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as
confirmed by USDA totaled 3100 head. Medium and large No.
1 steers weighing 450-475 pounds brought $91 f.o.b.
Idaho, 500-550 pounds $83-85 f.o.b. Washington and
600-625 pounds $83-83.50 f.o.b. Washington and Oregon;
similar heifers weighing 450-500 pounds were $80-83
f.o.b. Washington, 800-825 pounds $72.50 f.o.b.
Washington and Oregon.
Montana direct feeder cattle trade by USDA count came
to 250 head of medium and No. 1 steers weighing 640
pounds at $87 f.o.b.
