Mexican Feeder Cattle
Imports Reach 590,913
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (USDA) Mexican feeder
cattle imported into the U.S. the first 10 months of the
year were up 31 percent at 590,913 head.
There were 34,681 feeder cattle imported into Texas
from Mexico last week, bringing the year to date total to
464,532 head, up 33 percent from a year ago.
U.S. cattle exports to Mexico for the first 10 months
of the year were down 32 percent at 124,620 head.
Slaughter cattle were down 32 percent at 97,969 head,
dairy cattle down 31 percent at 22,855 head.
Hog exports to Mexico are up 14 percent through
October at 197,183 head, including 189,958 for slaughter.
Sheep exports to Mexico were up 14 percent at 268,253
head, including 267,732 slaughter ewes.
Goat exports were off 32 percent at 57,968 head.
Angora goats were off 57 percent at 22,024, Spanish goats
up four percent at 35,011 head.
