Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought in West Texas for March delivery 220 No. 1 Okie steers to weigh 775 pounds at $81, and in the Texas Panhandle, also for March, 330 No. 1 Okie heifers to weigh 625 at $80.

Brown Cattle Co., Abilene, sold on a delivered basis to an Oklahoma buyer five loads of No. 1 English steers, mostly blacks and black whitefaces, weighing 513 pounds after a three percent shrink, at $97; to North Central Texas buyers one load of No. 1½ English and Brahman cross steers and bulls weighing 418 at $84.93, also two loads of No. 1 and better English heifers, large framed and thin fleshed, worked and with shots, weighing 419 at $84.15, plus two loads of thin, aged, medium framed mixed feeder steers and heifers weighing 595 at $70.92 straight across; to a Texas Panhandle buyer two loads of No. 1 and better English and English cross heifers weighing 420 at $83.75; to a New Mexico buyer one load of mostly quarter eared steers and bulls, medium framed and thin, weighing 431 at $81.16.

USDA reports 2750 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Oklahoma range, including: for June delivery medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 800 pounds at $78; for May similar steers to weigh 775 at $78.50; for April steers to weigh 800 at $77.75; for March steers to weigh 750 at $81.25 and similar heifers to weigh 725 at $75; for January steers to weigh 750 at $81.50; for current delivery steers weighing 675 at $83-84.50 and 750-775 pounds at $79-81.50, also similar heifers weighing 675 at $77.

Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as confirmed by USDA totaled 2050 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 550-600 pounds brought $84 f.o.b. Idaho, 600-650 pounds $82-87 f.o.b. Oregon, Washington and Idaho, and 875 pounds $74 f.o.b. Idaho; similar heifers weighing 500 pounds were $84 f.o.b. Oregon, 600 pounds $77 f.o.b. Washington, and 750-800 pounds $72-73.50 f.o.b. Idaho.

Montana direct feeder cattle trade by USDA count came to 1343 head, all f.o.b. for current delivery. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 450-500 pounds were $95.50-96, 550-575 pounds $87-90, and a load of 600-650 pounds $84-87.25; similar heifers weighing 530-550 were $82-85, a couple of loads weighing 575 pounds $82.50, and a load weighing 625 pounds $79.
