Domestic Wool Slow,
Aussie Wools Lower

GREELEY, Colo. —(USDA)— Wool trading across the nation remains at a standstill in most areas. Buyer demand is light, as is seller interest, many producers opting to store wool on-site rather than sell at current price levels.

In Territory trading, California's Imperial Valley lamb wool, 309,000 pounds in burlap bags, 1.5-2 inch, crossbred 22-24 micron, brought 10 cents f.o.b. grease, whiteface 20-22 cents micron 15 cents.

In warehouse trading, 80,000 pounds of graded, high

yielding, three-inch plus territory wools of 23.5-24.9 micron ranged 20-25 cents grease, delivered; 22-23.5 micron, three-inch plus, was 31 cents.

Australia's eastern market indictor declined 10 cents to close at 548A cents per kilo clean. A total of 83,350 bales were offered with clearance at 90 percent.

In New Zealand at Christchurch, strong wool was up 12 cents at 385NZ cents per kilo clean, medium up 27 cents at 439NZ, fine up 62 at 958. Clearance was 92 percent on 13,241 bales offered. The NZ dollar to U.S. dollar exchange rate is is .5116.
