ALF Implicated
In Lab Break-in

PUYALLUP, Wash. — Animal rights activists are suspected of vandalizing a research lab at Washington State University.

Equipment was smashed, chemicals were poured throughout the building, and slogans were spray-painted on walls in November, reports The New York Times.

Among the remarks on the walls were the letters ALF.

The Animal Liberation Front took responsibility in October for break-ins at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Wash.

Local sheriff's deputies say they suspect animal rights activists in the latest vandalism.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is working with local authorities in the case.
