Mexico Cattle Imports
Higher, Exports Down
LAS CRUCES, N.M. (USDA) Year to date
cattle exports to Mexico are down 30 percent from a year
ago while cattle imports are up 30 percent. Total
livestock exports to Mexico were down four percent at
690,642 head.
Feeder cattle imported from Mexico for the year to
date as of November 20 were up 30 percent from a year ago
at 760,460 head.
Total U.S. cattle exported to Mexico through November
20 are down 30 percent at 134,985 head. Slaughter cattle
exports are off 30 percent at 105,021 head and dairy
cattle numbers are down 26 percent at 25,703 head.
Breeding beef cattle numbers are down 43 percent at 4261
head.
Sheep exports to Mexico for the year through November
20 are up 14 percent at 197,743 head, including 291,280
slaughter ewes.
Goat exports for the period are down 30 percent at
61,818 head. Angora goats are off 56 percent at 22,743
head, while Spanish goat numbers are up four percent at
37,927 head.
Hog exports for the period are up 11 percent at
197,743 head. Slaughter hog numbers are up 13 percent at
189,958 head.
