Texas Panhandle for May delivery four loads of No. 1
English and exotic cross steers to weigh 750 pounds at
$83.50, also two loads of similar steers to weigh the
same at $83, and for March three loads of No. 1 black and
black baldface steers to weigh 700 at $88.50; in New
Mexico for February delivery three loads of No. 1 English
and exotic cross heifers to weigh 675 at $81.50; in West
Texas for January three loads of similar steers to weigh
700 at $85; in Northeast Texas for current delivery four
loads of No. 1 crossbred heifers weighing 700 at $79.Brown
Cattle Co., Clyde, sold on a delivered basis to a New
Mexico buyer one load of No. 1 English and English cross
heifers weighing 358 pounds at $91.58; to an Oklahoma
buyer a short load of No. 1-2 English-Brahman cross steer
and bull calves weighing 369 at $96.72 and a short load
of heifer mates weighing 367 at $86.03; to a Kansas
feedyard a load of No. 1 English heifers weighing 678 at
$80.78; to West Texas grass and wheat two loads of
English cows of various ages, weighing 978 at $397.80 per
head.
USDA reports 7850 head of feeder cattle selling direct
off Oklahoma range, including: for May delivery medium
and large No. 1 steers to weigh 750 pounds at $84 and 800
pounds at $82.50-83.25, also similar heifers to weigh 725
at $79; for April similar steers to weigh 750-800 at
$83.50-84.25; for March heifers to weigh 725 at $79; for
current delivery steers weighing 600 at $91 and 700
pounds at $84, as well as heifers weighing 625 at $81.
Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as
confirmed by USDA totaled 2800 head. Medium and large No.
1 steers weighing 500 pounds brought $95 f.o.b. Oregon
and Idaho, 650 pounds $90 f.o.b. Idaho and $84 delivered
in Washington, 850-900 pounds $76-78.50 f.o.b. Washington
and Oregon, and 850 pounds $80 delivered in Washington;
similar heifers weighing 475-500 pounds were $88 f.o.b.
Oregon, 625 pounds $78 delivered in Washington, and
800-825 pounds $77 delivered in Washington.
Montana direct feeder cattle trade by USDA count came
to 1035 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 850
pounds brought $82 for March delivery and 525-550 pounds
$93-98.25 for current delivery; similar heifers weighing
500-550 pounds were $87-88.25, a string of 600 pounders
$84, all prices f.o.b.
