Domestic Wool Slow,
Aussie Wools Lower

GREELEY, Colo. —(USDA)— Wool trading remains nearly at a standstill in most areas. Demand was light to very light in all areas. Producers have shown more interest in selling wool this month, but lower realizations have limited willingness to sell.

In Territory trading, 40,000 pounds of 21.5 micron, three-inch plus staple, average yield brought $1 clean, delivered to the processor.

Australia's eastern market indictor closed up five cents at 576A cents per kilo clean. Sales were on 80,194 bales with clearance at 82 percent. The 21 micron futures grease wool contract for December was down eight cents at 513A, February down eight at 547, April down five at 573 and June down four at 600. The 19 micron clean wool contract for December was up five at 980A, February up three at 996, April up 11 at 1011, and June up 30 at 1030. The 23 micron clean contract was unchanged, December at 405, February 409, April 462 and June 423.

New Zealand market indicators moved lower. The strong indicator was down four at 369NZ cents per kilo clean, medium down two cents at 424, fine down 48 cents at 905 and lamb down six at 325. Clearance was 85 percent on a total offering of 26,895, or 3364 clean tons.
