Gas is cheap but we can’t go anywhere. Reports of oil storage facilities reaching capacity indicates that prices may go even lower. On March 20, 2020 near month futures contracts for Brent Crude oil were quoted at $28.47 per barrel, down $4.65 from a week ago. West Texas Intermediate contracts were reported at $23.64 and that is down $9.24 from the previous week and down by more than $30 per barrel from one year ago. Plains All American posted bulletin had WTI at $18.50-19 which is $9.25 per barrel lower than the close the previous week. Natural gas futures at the Henry Hub, Louisiana terminal, were at $1.58 per mcf while the WaHa hub, in the Permian Basin, was near $0.70 according to the chart on the Energy Information Authority website.
