LLANO COUNTY pastures have had more good days than bad this year and fall grazing looks to be even better as scattered showers continue to bless the area.

Clovis Light Steers Steady To Higher

Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves under 600 pounds steady to $2 higher, calves and feeders over 600 pounds steady to $2 higher except unweaned offerings $1-3 lower, slaughter cows $3-4 lower, bulls steady. Cattle receipts totaled 1282 head.

Angelo Slaughter Ewes Traded $2-3 Higher

Compared to last week, wooled feeder lambs sold $10 lower, slaughter lambs $10-20 higher, slaughter ewes $2-3 higher, kids $15-20 higher, nannies weak to $5 lower. Sheep and goat receipts estimated 5002 head.

70 YEARS AGO
Billie Heft of Amarillo sold to Q. Frederick, Wichita, Kansas, 700 steer yearlings averaging 725 pounds at 35 cents per pound. Heft also sold to Urschel Ranch of Canadian, 325 six-year-old cows and calves at $300; these were originally the Scharbauer cattle from Midland.
