Invasive species has become a hot topic in the environmental community over the last 30 years. There is even a whole branch of ecology known as “invasion biology” whereby scientists seek to understand and predict the consequences of the increase in these species.

Oil About Ranching

Baker Hughes reported that 551 drilling rigs were active in the U.S. as of May 15. That is three more than the previous week, but 25 less than one year ago. Canada had 124 rigs at work, unchanged from the previous week and three more than a year ago.

Good Horsekeeping

As the price of supplies for horses continue to increase, I imagine there will also be an increase in theft.            When I was getting shavings from the farm store, the store employee told me that people stealing bagged shavings continues to be a problem.

It's The Pitts

During a 50-year career of taking bids at all kinds of auctions, the dumbest thing I've ever been asked was, "Who's bidding against me?" I don't know if it was every ring man's rule, but I had a personal policy that I would NOT divulge such information even if I knew the answer.
