Brent Crude oil futures were reported at $83.80 on May 3, 2024 while West Texas Intermediate was $78.11. Plains pipeline posted prices for WTI were $74.09 and $74.59. Natural gas futures were at $2.20. AAA reported that U.S. gasoline prices averaged $3.65 per gallon compared to diesel at $3.98. In Texas, gasoline averaged $3.28 while diesel was $3.51.

Baker Hughes reported that 617 drilling rigs were active in the U.S. on April 12. That is three less than last week and 134 less than one year ago. Canada has 141 rigs, up five from last week and up 14 from this time last year.
