ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — (USDA) — Total red meat production under federal inspection for the week ending July 4 was estimated at 838.5 million pounds. This was 15.7 percent lower than a week ago and 5.0 percent higher than a year ago. Cumulative meat production for the year to date was 2.5 percent lower from last year.
