Slaughter Meat Goats Trade Mixed In Most Recent Sales

Slaughter meat goats traded steady to higher this week. Kids were steady at San Angelo and $5 higher in Fredericksburg. At Goldthwaite light kids sold $10-20 higher while slaughter kids were $5-10 lower. At New Holland, Pennsylvania, slaughter kids traded mostly steady to $10 lower.

Sheep Markets Continue With Mixed Trends

San Angelo and most other sheep markets regained some of the downturn experienced in recent trade with lamb prices called firm to $10 higher while the market at New Holland, Pennsylvania, was off $10-15. The lack of forward contracting on lambs has been cited by observers as one factor in weak lamb markets.
