Prior to her children going to their Northern Indiana fair in July, one of my horse friends shared a post on Facebook of her boys enjoying pool time with some of their 4-H friends. In her post she said the best part of her kids showing their animals at fair was the friendships they had made.

Just Talkin' Texas

A party of 10 surveyors rode west from Bastrop in 1838 to locate lands suitable for settlement. Within a day or two, one of them, an old man of the frontier, returned. He said he left the surveying party when the younger men refused to post guards around their camp at night.
